In the Shortcuts settings, you can define which combination of keys you'd like to use as a shortcut for executing actions in Solibri. Custom keyboard shortcuts allow you to create the shortcuts based on your native language and language-specific keyboard, which makes it easier to use and remember them. You can freely assign a custom keyboard shortcut for actions, except for universal standard actions, or leave them empty. You can also download and share the shortcuts as a file. Please note that currently, it's not possible to customize mouse controls.
Note
The settings for custom keyboard shortcuts are available in Solibri v24.12.0 and newer. For keyboard shortcuts and mouse controls in older versions of Solibri, see here.
The article covers the following topics:
You can customize the keyboard shortcut for each action that currently has a default shortcut given by Solibri or has no currently assigned keyboard shortcut. To assign a keyboard shortcut:
-
Click on the respective keyboard shortcut field:
-
A dialog opens. Give a key combination for the shortcut. The maximum number of keys you can apply to one shortcut is four:
-
When a valid shortcut is pressed, the dialog closes automatically. The keyboard shortcut is now assigned.
-
To make the new shortcut(s) applicable, click OK in the Shortcuts Settings.
When the keyboard shortcut has been applied, it's possible to remove it or restore it to default:
-
To remove the shortcut, right-click the shortcut field and select Remove. Removing an unnecessary default shortcut enables you to use it for another, more used action.
-
To restore the shortcut to default, click
. If no default shortcut existed, the shortcut will be restored to an empty state. If the default shortcut to be restored has been assigned to another functionality, you'll be asked if want to remove it from the other functionality and use it in the current one or not.
-
To restore all shortcuts to defaults, click Restore Default Settings.
Important
Duplicate shortcuts: No duplicate shortcuts can exist, even if the shortcuts would apply to different views. All the keyboard shortcuts need to be unique.
Important
Reassigning shortcuts: If the shortcut you added had already been assigned to another shortcut, a Reassign button will appear. There’s an explanatory text that indicates to which functionality the shortcut has already been assigned to. To reassign the shortcut, click Reassign. You'll get a message saying that the shortcut is now used for the new functionality and removed from the previous functionality
You can save and export the currently assigned shortcuts as a .shortcuts file by clicking Save As. The file is editable.
You can import a .shortcuts file (one file at a time) by clicking Import File:
The imported shortcuts will override the shortcuts you've previously assigned. When importing the file, you'll get a warning that the current shortcuts will be overridden, and an option to proceed or not.
Important
To prevent invalid input, we strongly recommend that you don't edit the file after exporting it. Editing the file may result in errors. Note that if your shortcuts don't work correctly, this may be because you have invalid data in the file.
The General Shortcuts are applicable globally in the Solibri UI. They include universal standard actions that can only be viewed, not edited. The layout shortcuts are related to layouts in Solibri, and the Selection Basket shortcuts are related to the Selection Basket tools.
