BCF Live Connector provides a direct link between Solibri and cloud-based issue-management systems. The workflow of communicating issues and comments is streamlined so that there is a full audit trail of issues and the responsible team members. You can easily synchronise issues between an issue management system and Solibri by using a live connection.
Note
The full feature set of the BCF Live Connector is available in Solibri Office and Site v9.12.0 onward. If you are using v9.10, please refer to the documentation for BCF Connector. Note that Solibri Anywhere users can view, comment and edit BCF Live issues.
This article covers the following topics:
-
BCF Live Connector is compatible with any issue management system that is compliant with the BCF API standard, such as Aconex, BIM Track, BIMcollab, Catenda, Dalux and StreamBIM. For a full list of available servers, see here.
-
Each BCF Live session is connected to one single project at a time. It is possible, however, to end a session and connect to a different server or project in the same Solibri instance.
-
The project used last is remembered (indicated in bold text), however, after turning the BCF Live connection on, it must be selected in order to begin synchronisation.
-
BCF Live Connector synchronises issues constantly in batches of 5 issues at a time, at a 5 second interval
BCF Live Connector has its own layout, which includes three views: BCF Live, Live Issue Details and 3D.
The BCF Live view shows the issues synchronized with the issue management platform. Once you have turned on the synchronization, the sync button appears as blue and the view is populated with issues. The name of the current project is shown above the table. The synchronization status is shown in the leftmost column. When the synchronization is ongoing, the status icon is . When the synchronization is complete, the icon is .
If there's a problem with synchronizing the issue to the server, the icon will be shown in the live issue list. These problems include, for example:
-
Missing issue title
-
Server timeout
-
Connection error
-
Other limitation on the BCF server side (for example, a limitation on the number of components included in a viewpoint)
Note
From version 9.12.10 onward, Solibri will display a warning when a viewpoint sync error is detected. When an issue has been updated, the row is highlighted using bold text:
You can view the issues as a list or as thumbnails. To switch between the two modes, click / in the view toolbar:
In the thumbnail view, you can change the size of the thumbnail images using the slider:
Issue title and index number are shown at the bottom of each thumbnail image.
When you select an issue in the BCF Live view, you can view and edit the issue details in the Live Issue Details view:
Tip
To filter the issues in the BCF Live view, click . The Filter Issues dialog opens:
When you activate a filter, it turns from grey to blue. You can select one or multiple filters. You can filter the issues by status, type, stage, assignment, label and creator.
If the Assigned to filter has a long list of assignees, a search field appears and you can search for a specific assignee.
Click OK. The filter icon turns blue to indicate that the list of issues has been filtered. Note that until you select another issue from the filtered list, the filtered view will automatically show the current selected issue even if it does not make the criteria.
Presentations:
-
BCF Live Connector does not support presentations, however, it is possible to import issues from presentations directly to BCF Live Connector (and the server project). Note that the link to the presentation is not preserved.
-
BCF Live Connector works with server-based projects. It is possible, however, to create a presentation from a BCF file, and import those issues into BCF Live to be added to a server project.
Reports:
-
You cannot create reports (e.g. PDF or Excel) with BCF Live Connector. Reporting is carried out by the appropriate issue management server.
