Installing Solibri

This article instructs you on where to find Solibri installers, how to install the software and how to launch it for the first time.

Important

For Solibri subscription customers: Product downloads will be available via the Solibri Center. Organization OrgAdmin roles invite users to the account please see here. Access to the installers via the Solibri Center will be available once users have responded and accepted the invite.

Installers

If you have a Solibri license or subscription and a company account in Solibri Center: 

  1. Go to Solibri Center and sign in with your credentials.

  2. Navigate to the Products and Services page of the Solibri Center by clicking Products and Services and then My Products from the side menu or clicking on the Go to products and services link on the home page.

  3. Solibri Starter, Essential, Advanced and Premium share the same installer under Solibri Desktop.

  4. Select your operating system from the drop-down menu.

  5. Select the version of Solibri Desktop from the drop down.

  6. Open the file and follow the installer instructions (see more below).

If you are a Solibri Individual User Subscription (purchased subscription from the online store): 

  1. Go to https://buy.solibri.com and sign in with your credentials.

  2. Click Menu in the top right corner of the page and select My Downloads.

  3. Select the correct installer for your operating system (Windows/MacOS) and download it:

  4. Open the file and follow the installer instructions (see more below).

Installation Process

Important

For Solibri v9.13.0 or newer: if you're using macOSVentura in dark mode, the installation fails. Please switch to light mode before you start the installation:

  1. Click the Apple logo on the top-left of your screen.

  2. Select System Settings....

  3. Select Appearance.

  4. Select Light.

After the installation is completed successfully, you can switch back to dark mode.

When you have downloaded the installer, you can start it and continue with the installation process:

  1. Language: Select your language and click OK.

  2. A dialog opens, asking if you want to allow the app to make changes to your device. Click Yes.

  3. The Solibri Setup wizard opens. Click Next.

  4. License Agreement: Accept and click Next.

  5. Destination Directory: Select the default directory. and click Next.

  6. Ruleset, Classification and Template options: Select the language and units you wish to use.

    From 9.13.1 onwards, you can select whether or not you wish to to include the Get Started role and layout in the installation. The option is always on by default. Note that this applies to English resources only.

    Click Next.

  7. Select File Associations: Select the file associations you wish to create. By default, all the options are selected. Click Next.

  8. Desktop icon: By default, a desktop icon is created. Click Next.

  9. Start Menu Folder: By default, a start menu folder is created. Click Next.

  10. The software is installed.

  11. Update Schedule: We recommend that you check for updates regularly. Select one of the options in the drop-down menu and click Next.

  12. To complete the installation, click Finish. By default, Solibri is opened after you close the setup wizard.

Launching Solibri

When you have completed the installation, you can launch Solibri and sign in with your credentials. If you're using a proxy server, you need to specify the proxy settings before signing in.

The installer is the same for all Solibri products. When you start Solibri, it automatically opens the product you have a license for. For example, if you have a Starter license, Solibri will automatically open Solibri Starter, and you do not need to choose the product manually.

Important

If Solibri asks for a verification code (MFA, multi-factor authentication) when you sign in, it means that you haven't completed the registration by setting your initial password correctly. The MFA request can also come up if the you haven't registered at all or the credentials are incorrect. Please see Link

Important

Important for Solibri Subscription users: If you have bought an individual subscription via our web shop and have previously used Solibri, for example with a Trial license, you might get the error message "Unable to checkout a license". Please refresh your login information to take your Subscription into use. To do this, start Solibri, go to General Settings and uncheck the ‘Remember Me’. Then restart Solibri and sign in with your credentials. For further advice, please refer to this article about General Settings.

To launch Solibri:

  1. Double click the Solibri icon on your desktop.

  2. A sign-in window opens. Enter your email (user name) and click Next:

    Tip

    If you wish to save your credentials, mark the Remember Me checkbox.

    Important

    If you are using a proxy server, you need to first determine the proxy server settings. To access the settings, click Proxy Server Settings in the bottom right corner of the sign-in window.

    Mark the Remember Me checkbox when signing in. Otherwise, you will lose the proxy settings you have configured. For more detailed information on the settings, see Proxy Server Settings.

  3. Enter your password and click Sign in:

    Tip

  4. Solibri opens the product you have a license for (Starter, Essential, Advanced, or Premium).
