Borrowing a floating license is only available in Solibri Essential, Advanced and Premium.
You can work offline with Solibri Essential, Advanced, or Premium by borrowing a floating license in advance for a specified number of days (up to 14 days). To borrow a floating license, you must be connected to the internet and have an active Solibri Essential, Advanced, or Premium session.
Tip
Borrowing a licence has been used to ensure that a user has exclusive access to a licence in addition to its intended use of offline access where necessary. The new licensing system allows a Organisation Administrator to reserve a licence for a particular user.
The floating license can be returned in the same location when a user is connected to the internet again. When the maximum borrowing time is over, the floating license will be returned automatically.
To borrow a floating license:

Open Solibri Essential, Advanced, or Premium.

Go to File, then Help.

Select Borrow License:

A dialog opens:

Select the number of days from the drop-down menu and click Borrow Now.
Important
If you lose internet connection for less than an hour, it should not be noticeable in any way. The licensing scheme includes contingency behavior to protect the users from short term connectivity outages. If you expect to have long-term outages, you can borrow a license.
