In Sectioning Settings, you can control the visibility and appearance of contours generated by section planes cutting through components (see The Sectioning Tool). While you're modifying the Sectioning Settings, the 3D view is visible and changes are dynamically updated in the model.
To access the settings, click File > Settings > Sectioning.
Sectioning settings are applied to all the models in the project, but they are user-specific, so each user can select different colors for lines and filling.

Note: Solibri v26.4 and newer, the Sectioning Settings dialog contains three tabs: Style, Clipping, and Advanced.
Note: color fill for section planes is only available in Solibri v9.12.9 and newer.
Restore Default Settings
To restore the settings in this dialog to their default values, click the Restore Default Settings button and confirm your action. This will affect the settings in the dialog. Please note that this action cannot be undone.
On the Style tab, you can control the visibility and appearance of sectioning lines, markers, and section fills.
Show Sectioning Lines
When selected, sectioning lines are shown, and the Line Color and Line Thickness options are enabled.
Line Color
Sets the sectioning line color. To change the color, click the color box, select the color, and click OK.
Show Inactive Marker Lines
When selected, marker lines for inactive sections along alignment lines are shown.
Marker Color
Sets the marker color for perpendicular section markers.
Selected Marker Color
Sets the selected marker color for perpendicular section markers.
Hovered Marker Color
Sets the hovered marker color for perpendicular section markers.
Line Thickness
Sets the sectioning line thickness. For close-up views of detailed components, a lower value is recommended.
Fill Sectioned Components
When selected, sectioned components are filled and the Fill Option, Fill Color, and Fill Transparency options are enabled.
Fill Option
Select one of the following options from the drop-down list:

Fill sections with component's color: Fills sectioned components with the component color based on IFC or ITO definition colors.
In the image above, sectioning lines are toggled on.

Fill sections with custom color: Fills sectioned components with the color defined in Fill Color.
In the image above, sectioning lines are toggled off.
Fill Color
Sets the fill color for sectioned components when a custom fill color is used. To change the color, click the color box, select the color, and click OK.
Fill Transparency
Sets the transparency level for the fill. By default, the level is set to 50.
On the Clipping tab, you can define which items are clipped by the section plane.
Clip Space Info Footprints
When selected, space info footprints are clipped at the section plane.
Clip Gridlines
When selected, gridlines are clipped at the section plane.
Show Labels at Section Point
When selected, grid labels are shown at the point where the section plane cuts the gridlines.
Grid Label Offset
Sets the distance between the section point and the grid labels shown at the cut location. Increase the value if labels overlap geometry or are too close to the section cut.
Clip Component Footprints
When selected, component footprints are clipped at the section plane.
Clip Drawings
When selected, drawings are clipped at the section plane.
On the Advanced tab, you can define discipline-specific sectioning styles.
Use Advanced Settings
When selected, you can define discipline-specific sectioning settings in the Advanced Section Settings table.
Advanced Section Settings
Here, you can define the line color and thickness, as well as section color fills by discipline. You can add multiple disciplines to the table. For example, if you select a discipline such as Architectural and assign a specific color, all architectural elements in the section cutting view use that discipline-specific sectioning style.
For each discipline, you can define the following settings:

Note
If a discipline is not defined in the table, Solibri uses the general sectioning settings. In earlier versions, this means the basic settings in the same dialog. In Solibri v26.4 and newer, this means the general settings on the Style tab.
In the image below, you can see three different disciplines and their sectioning settings reflected in the 3D view:
If a discipline is not set in the table, Solibri will default to the basic color fill setting.
