When importing models, you may find some models or components which are incorrectly located and thus displayed outside the normal 3D View. It may not be possible to visualise the scattered models in the 3D view because they may be so far away from each other. In this case, the 3D view will show a very large area containing only very small models. This can affect performance and navigation.
If any of the models or components are scattered, a pop-up window warning about widely scattered models opens automatically:
The dialog will show each model location, along with its coordinates, which gives a good indication of how widely scattered the models (or components) are.
To inspect any of the individual models, select them from the dialog and click to zoom to the extents of the selected model(s).
Simple moving or rotating models will only fix an issue if the whole model is displaced. Where component/s are a long way from the main model elements, these need to be fixed in the authoring system. Model authors can be advised via BCF of these components and can subsequently be temporarily removed form the model if required using the selection basket. To correct the widely scattered models, you can move or rotate the model(s) to a common insertion point. See Moving and Rotating Models.
