Once you have opened a model, you can add more models from different disciplines. Importing multiple IFC models from various disciplines creates a federated SMC model, which allows design coordination and interdisciplinary checks. Every time you open a new model, you must ensure that the model discipline is correct.
Important
Note that you can't import multiple IFCs to Solibri Anywhere. To combine multiple IFCs, you need to have Solibri Site or Solibri Office in use.
To import more models into Solibri:
-
Click File, then Add Models.
-
Select the file(s) and and click Open.
-
When you open an IFC model for the first time, a dialog opens and you need to ensure the model discipline and category. If you open a saved SMC file, the discipline settings option is not given.
For more detailed information on model disciplines and categories, see Setting Model Short Name, Discipline and Category.
-
Click OK. The model is opened and you see the Model layout.
Tip
If you are working in the Model layout, the easiest way to add models is through the Model Tree view. Right-click the Model Tree view to open the context menu and select Add Models.
