Export Vector Graphics

Export Vector Graphics lets you save the current 3D view as scalable vector graphics in PDF or SVG format. Use it to create technical drawings, presentations, and documentation from your model view.

Note

Export Vector Graphics requires an open model and orthographic camera mode.

Requirements

  • At least one model must be open.

  • The 3D view must be in orthographic camera mode. Perspective mode is not supported.

How to export

  1. Open your model and switch to orthographic view.

  2. Right-click in the 3D view.

  3. Select Export Vector Graphics.

  4. Configure the export settings in the dialog.

  5. Click Export and choose a save location.

The exported file opens automatically after a successful export.

Export Settings

Format

  • PDF — Best for printing and sharing. Supports page sizes, orientation, scale, and an optional info box.

  • SVG — Best for editing in design software. Supports custom width and height in millimeters.

Page size and orientation (PDF)

Choose a standard page size (A4, A3, A2, A1, A0, Letter, Legal, or Tabloid) and orientation:

  • Portrait — Vertical layout

  • Landscape — Horizontal layout

Select which elements to include in the export:

Use Fill Background to include the 3D view background color in the export.

Crop

Use the Crop tool in the export dialog to select only a portion of the view. Toggle crop mode, draw the crop area in the preview, and export only the selected region.

Info box (PDF)

Enable Info Box to add scale, author, date, and model name to the exported PDF.

Tip

Tips for best results

  • Set up the 3D view before opening the export dialog — hide components, adjust section planes, and position the view as you want it in the final output.

  • Use Crop to focus on a specific area and reduce file size.

  • Disable filters you do not need, such as grid lines or measurements, to simplify the export.

  • Use PDF when you need a print-ready document with a defined scale. Use SVG when you need to edit the output in external design tools.

Troubleshooting

Cannot export message appears

  • Switch to orthographic camera mode before exporting.

  • Make sure at least one model is open.

Export file is too large

  • Use PDF instead of SVG.

  • Disable unnecessary filters (for example, Grid Lines or Measurements).

  • Use a smaller page size or crop the view to a smaller area.

Text is blurry or distorted

  • Check that the selected scale is appropriate for the page size.

  • Try a larger page size.

  • Use PDF format for better text rendering.
