This rule checks the effective coverage area and ratio between property values of effect sources against space areas.
The rule parameters are:
Spaces to Check:
This filter is used to select space areas to check. The selected space areas are the spaces affected by the effect sources.
Effect sources:
This filter is used to select effect sources. The selected effect sources are the entities which generate the coverage effect onto the space areas.
Effect:
-
Effective Radius from Point of Source: This defines the radius of the effect from each effect source. The radius of the effect is the distance the effect propagates outward from a point on an effect source.
-
Effect Propagates to Connected Spaces: This option enables the coverage effect to extend to spaces connected to the checked space area specified by "Spaces to Check".
-
Occlusion and Bounds: This defines how the coverage effect propagates from each effect source.
-
Unoccluded extends outside Space: This option allows the coverage effect to propagate unobstructed by any object and allows the coverage effect to propagate to spaces connected to the checked space area.
-
Unoccluded within Space: This option allows the coverage effect to propagate unobstructed by any object and limits its propagation to only within the checked space area.
-
Distance of Travel within Space: This allows the coverage effect to cover any point that can be reached from the effect source, given that the distance travelled is at most "Effective Radius from Point of Source".
-
Occluded within Space: This option enables the coverage effect to be occluded by objects and limits its propagation to only within the checked space area.
-
Effective Coverage:
Required Effective Minimum Coverage of Surface Area: This defines the minimum ratio between the coverage area of the effect and the area of the space area. The coverage effect is generated from the effect sources and affects the space area in the manner specified by "Occlusion and Bounds". If the effective coverage ratio calculated from "Spaces to Check", "Effect sources", "Effect" is below "Required Effective Minimum Coverage of Surface Area", an issue is created.
Ratio of Property Values:
-
Required Minimum Ratio: This defines the minimum required ratio that "Property Values" must satisfy.
-
Property Values: This defines the ratio to be compared against "Required Minimum Ratio" by specifying the numerator property and the denominator property. The numerator property and denominator property are the properties whose values are used as the numerator and denominator of the ratio respectively. If this ratio is below "Required Minimum Ratio", an issue is created.
-
Effect Source Property Value: This defines the numerator property value by specifying a property from the effect sources. If the specified property is not a number property, the property value is considered zero e.g. a name is not a number property, volume is number property. The sum of this property value from all effect sources is the numerator property value.
-
Area Property Value: This defines the denominator property value by specifying a property from the space area. If the specified property is not a number property, the property value is considered zero e.g. a name is not a number property, volume is number property. This property value is the denominator value. If this property value is zero, an issue is created.

Analysing the results:

-
Ratio between property values is too low
