This rule checks that the selected component dimensions are equal. The similarity can be required within components with the same type or all same component types. The check is performed either in the whole model or in building floor at a time. For example, it can be used in quantity take-off analysis to find inconsistent components.
The rule parameters are:
Components To Check:
The Filter Parameter is used to define the Source components in the 'Components To Check' table. By default, the source components are specified as ‘Architectural Walls’.
Properties For Checked Components:
This table lets you specify properties for 'checked components' that are specified in 'Components to Check' table. It has two columns 'Compared Property' and 'Identical Property'. Both columns have a combo box as an editor. In the 'Compared Property' column and 'Identical Property', you can specify a property which is checked among the components that are specified in the 'Components to Check' table and if the property in the 'Compared Property' is same then the rule checks that the property defined in the 'Identical Property' is also same for the compared components. If both the properties specified in the 'Compared Property' and the 'Identical Property' are same for the compared components, then there are no issues reported in the Results View otherwise the Results View has issues.
Similar in:
Similarity can be required either in the whole model or in one building floor at a time.
Analysing the results:
If components with the same type or construction type have different dimension values for the checked dimensions, a separate issue is created for each value.
