This article describes how the Parking Rule works and how you can configure the rule.
The article covers the following topics:
This rule checks the size of parking spaces. The checking can be limited by the parking-aisle orientation (when aisle components are defined) or by space-orientation inferred automatically when no aisle components are available. Obstructions near the parking space can also be considered.

If aisle components are defined: the parking-space orientation is determined relative to the aisle based on the user’s orientation selection.

If no aisle components are defined: the rule automatically infers orientation. Spaces with unclear orientation can be included or ignored depending on the Include Unclear Orientation setting.

Once filtered by orientation, the rule checks for obstructions according to the configured parameters.

Finally, the rule verifies that parking-space dimensions fall within the specified min/max limits.
Parking Space Requirements

Minimum/Maximum Parking Space Size: Define the minimum and maximum width, length, and height of parking spaces.
Limit Checking by Aisle Type and Parking Space Alignment

Aisle Components to Check: Components that represent parking aisles.

Tip
When no aisle components are defined, the rule automatically infers the parking-space orientation.

Include Unclear Orientation: Allows including or excluding parking spaces whose orientation cannot be reliably determined.
Limit Checking to Parking Spaces with Obstructions on Sides or Ends

Obstruction Components to Check: Components treated as obstructions.

End Obstructions: Choose whether to check spaces with one, both, or no end obstructions.

Side Obstructions: Choose whether to check spaces with side obstructions or require an “obstruction-free zone” in the middle area (for example, to allow door opening).

Mid-Space Obstruction-Free Zone Length: Defines the length of the free zone if selected.
