This rule checks that components in Structural model fit inside Architectural model components. It can be used in spatial coordination to ensure that architectural and structural components are placed so that no parts of Structural components extend outside of Architectural components. The rule has parameters by which you can configure what kind of components in the Structural and Architectural models are considered.
Tip
This rule is often used together with the 224 Architectural Components Are Filled rule.
The rule parameters are:
Structural Model Visualization Color:
The color and transparency used for visualizing Structural model components.
Architectural Model Visualization Color:
The color and transparency used for visualizing Architectural model components.
Structural Components:
The previous components such as Disciplines, Classifications for Structural Models, Compared Components in Structural Model have been replaced with a Filter Parameter table.
Architectural Components:
All the previous parameters such as Disciplines, Classification and Compared Components tables are modified into a Filter Parameter table, as shown in the screenshot above.
The usage of these filter parameters provides more options of selection of components, for example, only load bearing walls or the walls that are external to the building should be considered or door openings in the Structural model are covered by the doors in the architectural model. The results are also optimized and comprehensive. Previous rulesets have been converted so that the components defined in the "Compared Components" table are added to the respective filter parameter tables (Architectural and Structural Components Filter Parameter table) according to their disciplines, as shown above in the screenshot.
Horizontal Tolerance:
The tolerance by which the Structural components may exceed Architectural ones horizontally. Horizontal Tolerance can be disabled by using negative value.
Vertical Tolerance:
The tolerance by which the Structural components may exceed Architectural ones vertically. Vertical Tolerance can be disabled by using negative value.
Analysing the results:
Issues are generated for those Structural components that extend outside of the boundaries of the corresponding architectural components. The components are visualized with discipline specified colors and transparencies. These can be controlled from the parameters.
