This rule checks that the model contains required space groups with required spaces. Values for the space group containment table can be read from an Excel sheet.
Important
Running this rule with the default values does not give useful results; this rule has to be configured before use.
The rule parameters are:
Space requirements:
This table lists the space requirement for specific space groups. The table has the following columns:
-
Space Group Type: The space type of the checked space group. Depending on the source, this is not always available. You can use Space Name instead. An empty value matches any space. When you have a model opened, you can select a type from a separate dialog opened from the right side of the table cell.
-
Space Group Name: The space group name can either be unique (like Apartment B 34) or more generic, like Apartment. Again, depending on the source, this value may or may not be present in the model. An empty value matches any space. When you have a model opened, you can select a name from a separate dialog opened from the right side of the table cell.
-
Space Group Number: A value that defines one space group uniquely. An empty value matches any space. When you have a model opened, you can select a number from a separate dialog opened from the right side of the table cell.
-
Space Requirements: A list of spaces required to the identified space groups. Double-clicking the cell in the column opens a separate dialog for space requirements. The table in the dialog has following columns:
-
Space Type: The space type of the required space. Depending on the source, this is not always available. You can use Space Name instead. An empty value matches any space. When you have a model opened, you can select a type from a separate dialog opened from the right side of the table cell.
-
Space Name: The space name of the required space. The space name can either be unique or more generic, like Office. Again, depending on the source, this value may or may not be present in the model. An empty value matches any space. When you have a model opened you can select a name from a separate dialog opened from the right side of the table cell.
-
Space Number: The space number of the required space. A value that defines one space uniquely. An empty value matches any space. When you have a model opened you can select a number from a separate dialog opened from the right side of the table cell.
-
Count: Required count of spaces in the space group identified in the previous columns.
-
Analysing the results:
The rule creates issues in the following situations:
-
if a space doesn't have a type
-
if the model contains a space group which is not listed in the table
-
if the model doesn't have a space group, which is listed in the table
-
if a space group does not have all spaces required in the table
-
if a space group has spaces, which are not required in the table
Rule report:
The rule has a report, where all space groups and their containment are listed by building stories. The type and the number of spaces are listed for each space group.
Rule tools:
The rule does not have any tools.
