Important
To connect to SharePoint or OneDrive from Solibri, you need to have a Microsoft365 account.
Solibri requires certain rights for the SharePoint or OneDrive integration to work. More specifically, Solibri requires the following Microsoft Graph API scopes:
-
SharePoint:
Files.ReadWrite.All,User.Read,offline_access,Sites.Selected
-
OneDrive:
Files.ReadWrite.All,User.Read,offline_access
If you don't have admin rights to approve the integration with SharePoint/OneDrive, you will get the following notification when trying to connect. You can request approval directly from your SharePoint/OneDrive admin.
To connect to SharePoint or OneDrive:
-
Open Solibri and select Integrations from the menu on the left. If you already have Solibri open, click File > Integrations.
-
Navigate to SharePoint or OneDrive and turn on the toggle switch to connect:
-
A browser page opens, and you need to authenticate the access.
-
Once authenticated, the integration will display your username:
Tip
To end the connection, switch off the toggle.
When you have enabled the SharePoint or OneDrive connection, a SharePoint/OneDrive tab will become available in the file chooser. You can open one or multiple files at once. Opening multiple files works for .ifc, .zip, .ifczip, .dwg and .pdf files. You can't open multiple .smc files, but you can open, for example, an .smc and a .ifc file.
To open models from SharePoint or OneDrive:
-
Click File > Open Models. A dialog opens. Select the SharePoint or OneDrive tab.
-
Select Site from the drop-down menu.
-
Select the Drive (OneDrive) or the Document library (SharePoint) from the drop-down menu:

-
In the file chooser, you can see the different files and sort them by Name, Version, Size, Last updated and Updated by by clicking the column heading:
-
Double click the file (or select the file(s) and click Open). Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file to the Model view.
-
The model opens in Solibri. For more information on the next steps, see Setting Model Short Name, Discipline and Category.
You can only save SMC files into SharePoint or OneDrive from Solibri. To save models:
-
Click Save Model (if saving for the first time) or Save Model as. A dialog opens. Go to the SharePoint or OneDrive tab.
-
If you have opened the file from SharePoint or OneDrive, the file chooser remembers the project. If not, first select the server and project and then navigate to the correct file location.
-
Select the file location and click Save or Save As.
You can update imported IFC models with new versions directly from SharePoint or OneDrive. You can select to update either a single IFC model or several IFC models at once.
Note that if you update models, you need to manually re-check the model to update the checking results. Issues that are not affected by the update keep their decisions, comments and snapshots. You can see the updated model in 3D when an issue is selected. You need to update the snapshots and other details in issue slides manually.
To update models:
-
Select a model/models in the Model Tree view. Right click and select Update Models from the context menu:
Alternatively, click File, then Update Models. The dialog below will then list all the opened models and you can select which ones you wish to update.
-
The Update Models dialog opens:
Select one of the three updating options:
-
Update: Requires you to manually carry out this task when you want to update any models. If the filename has changed (revision letter, date etc.) then the new version of the file will need to be located using the Folder icon (
) at the end of the row. This will need to be done for each model.
-
Automatic: Updates are done automatically in the background when the software is started, and during a session if the time stamp is changed. Make sure that the new version of your file(s) is located in the same folder where the original model file is, and that it has the same name. The software will update your model automatically.
-
Prompt: You will get a prompt when the update is available, and the updating starts at your convenience. Make sure that the new version of your file(s) is located in the same folder where the original model file is, and that it has the same name.
