This article describes how you can create a custom template you can use in ITO reporting. When working with Solibri Office or Site, customizing reports to fit your specific needs can greatly enhance your workflow. The ability to create tailored Information Takeoff (ITO) reports is a powerful feature that allows users to organize and format ITO information efficiently. The report template can be used to generate more reports. Templates are saved as .xlsx files.
Tip
To populate the report with specific information from Solibri, you can use template keys, such as <FILE_NAME> in the Excel template file. The template keys are placeholders that Solibri will replace with actual data from your model. ITO Report templates can include multiple keywords in a single cell, along with other descriptive text. For a full list of template keys, please see Template Keys for ITO Report Template.
A number of ITO Report templates already exist for the out-of-the-box ITO definitions that reside in the Information Takeoff folder in the Solibri Resources. The templates can be found at:
-
Windows: C:\Users\Public\Solibri\SOLIBRI\Information Takeoff\Templates
-
MacOS: Applications\Solibri\Information Takeoff\Templates
To create your own custom template:

You can start by selecting one of the templates and open it in Excel for editing. Alternatively, you can create a spreadsheet from scratch. Here, we've selected the Building Element Quantities template:

Add template keys to your report. Remember to keep these keywords capitalized and enclosed in angle brackets for Solibri to recognize them.
-
Add additional information, apply color coding, and adjust fonts to make your report visually appealing and easy to interpret.
-
Save the file with a new name. You can now test the template by using it in the Template Excel report in ITO:
Tip
To include the total row in your existing report templates, you'll need to recreate the templates with 24.5.0. To do this:
