The Info tool works in conjunction with the Info view and allows you to interrogate any component in the model. For example, you can use the Info tool to find out which model a component is a part of, what the GUID of the component is, what are its dimensions or any number of property sets exported from the authoring tool.
Note
In v9.13.3 and newer, you have the option to use the Advanced Info View. This advanced view offers a more concise and user-friendly structuring of the data in the Info view. The Info view structure has six main tabs: BIM Data, IFC Header, IFC Standard Properties, IFC Standard Quantities, Other Properties, and Custom. Each tab has additional tabs under it. You can toggle this on and off in the General Settings.
To view component properties:
-
Select the Info tool from the main toolbar:
-
Click a component in the 3D view. The component is highlighted in green, and you can see its properties in the Info view:
The Info view shows the component data that has been exported to the IFC model. The level of details depends on the selected component and the IFC export level set in the authoring tool.
In the Info view, you can see the IFC class of the component above the tabs. The number after the component (e.g. Wall 1.2.34) shows:
-
Running order of the floor level
-
Running order of the listed component in that level

Only one component can be highlighted, but once you have highlighted a second component, you can scroll through the previous/next components you have examined using the arrows in the top right corner of the view.
